Fighters at i46 “The Olympian” is a bit of a mouthful to say, but it’s also looking likely to be the biggest UK FGC event of the summer! Offering competitors the chance to compete in twelve fighting game tournaments spread across three days, it’s looking to bring together all corners of the FGC for a truly major event. Now, with a little over a month to go, the teams behind Proving Grounds and Manchester Battle Arena have come forward to run qualification tournaments for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition Version 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Tekken 6 and King of Fighters 13.

Proving Grounds 3

Where: The Queens Hotel, 19 Bridge Street, Newport, NP20 4AN (opposite Newport train station)

What: One day tournament for SSF4:AE v.2012, UMvC3, SF3:3S and KOF13. The winner of each tournament will win free entry to the venue on the day that their game will be played at i46, alongside free entry to the tournament they qualified for. Double Elimination, pools into bracket format.

Both of the teams behind these tournament series have done great jobs with their prior tournaments, and with the opportunity to save quite a bit of cash at i46 alongside going home with pots on the line, they promise to be very exciting events to watch. See you there!
